    But a van-related MPV with four rows of seats! You don't see many of those here. Like a minibus, you don't seem to see them much... Wink

    There used to be a lot more when school and university teachers where able to drive them, but health and safety rules tend to require a professional driver these days which makes them almost as expensive to use as a full size bus and more expensive if you need two!

    There is a school LDV minibus parked just down my road though.

    I don't think the licence has changed, it's just that schools and universities wont let their teachers/lecturers drive them without special training for health and safety reasons, might have something to do with insurance but I do know a few schools still have small fleets of minibuses as they always used to for fieldtrips etc.

    It's a bit sad really, fieldtrips used to be a normal and rather good part of education but now you need a professional driver and someone who has had extensive first aid training and you are not allowed to leave mobile phone coverage in case of emergency and need X staff per Y students, a geology/botany/zoology fieldtrip is too much trouble!  (Those are all fieldtrip rules at a university I know of.)
