    MG Motor UK reviews advertising

MG Motor UK has called a review of its advertising account and is on the lookout for agencies to take up the role.
The firm, which was bought out by China´s Nanjing Automobile Group in 2005, currently has Room 251 on its books.

Room 251 handles the company´s advertising needs, while Brilliant Media does all the firm´s media planning and buying.

However, Peter Brooking, the firm´s marketing manager, said that the search for a new advertising agency may encompass the review of its buying and planning operation.

He said: "We are looking at doing a review at the moment and we´ve narrowed it down to some agencies we’re hoping to talk to."

Room 251 won the MG Motor UK marketing contract in 2007 after a pitching process for the multi-million pound contract was launched in January of that year.

The firm pitched against MG Rover´s incumbent agency of the time, St Luke´s.

Good spot Mr Windy! Thinking of getting a new agency in just before the launch of the new models - good timing!

    +1.

Had Saatchi already gone, leaving behind only a website powered by a fast dude in tights? Wink

Wonder what the brief will be - sporty, affordable, stylish, different? The Clarksons might laugh at them if they are put together in Longbridge and if they aren't. Having said which, MGE reports that Clarkson has bought a Sprite cos he likes them..
