"a new sports car called the MG 3SW" - save us having to spell XROSS.

Mention of European Production is only in the headline there!

    Never believe the headlines!

The sports car bit appears to be an overly shortened version of:

"MG company plans to introduce one of a series of new models, these will include a brand new sports car, a hybrid vehicle and a cross-border version of the MG 3 model. The latter will be named as the MG 3SW"

That last picture looks nice nothing like the black car in the pictures recently. Is that a photo-shop? The new MG3 and Xross can't come to the UK soon enough, it's a great looking car!

I think the last image is totaly computer generated, and looks better than the images of the black car.

When looking at the black car remember that the back end of the MG3 changed quite a bit through the various spy shots, at one point I thought the rear lights were dreadful but they ended up OK.

I want to know what the UK hybrid will be. An MG6 seems most likely with the R550s petrol-electric powertrain but an MG3 hybrid would be an interesting car and have a market to itself...

Let's hope the 5's rear end improves a little because right now seeing the 6 and the 3 together the 5 needs to follow similar styling as the 6 and the 3 hatches look just right. Black is never a good colour to photograph either.

    Some more "pseudo" spy pictures:

Recently, a group of MG5 at the Shanghai auto proving ground road test spy photos, we can see from the chart for more details on this model. MG5 as Shanghai Automotive to integrate global resources, the establishment of Global A platform after the launch of the first mid-level hatchback, once appeared on the concern. Here we first look at this highly dynamic hatchback hatchback sports car MG5.

Appearance: MG5 remained a concept car design, the two characteristics of the engine hatch has been extended to the front line of the MG Logo, powerful relaxation, MG5 by the shape of the front face tough line interwoven with sexy curves . Mesh front grille replaced the ordinary structure, and MG6 is quite similar.

Body side, MG5 MG5 production test models and concept cars are almost identical. MG5 tail design and concept cars MG6 fastback styling and MG3 are not the same type hatchback, MG5 tail in between, is very full.

Inside, the combination of the previous spy photos, and perhaps because of the Roewe 350 ( quotations Picture Parameters ) using the same vehicle platform, the interior can be seen in MG5 Roewe 350 marks. But overall, MG5 is more interested in sports-oriented.

Power, understood, MG5 Roewe 350 model will be used used in naturally aspirated 1.5L inline four-cylinder engine, maximum power 80kw/6000rpm, maximum torque 135Nm/4500rpm, match the five-speed manual gearbox and four-speed automatic transmission box. Follow-up will also introduce 1.5T turbocharged engine with a DCT dual-clutch transmission power combination. MG5 equipped with a 16-inch wheels, general A-model is an extremely rare. Wide tires, can be expected MG5 good stability.

MG5 field currently being tested for final consideration. Throughout the test site in, MG5 stood washboard road, artillery shells, such as different road hump road, and road test in addition to the scene outside, MG5 also after the birth of the true wild stringent road test, including the winter Mohe 40-50 ℃ below zero arctic weather; summer, Hainan, Australia under the heat durability test. A variety of extreme weather road test, so that MG5 by the GVDP international vehicle engineering certification.

Editorial comment: MG5 model with its avant-garde fashion, dynamic appearance of the atmosphere to attract the younger generation sought after, and 1.5T turbocharged engine with DCT dual-clutch transmission forecast more looking forward, as to whether that is the case with I believe that with Further exposure can quickly announced, let us wait and see.

The dash reminds me of the Mazda3, but it is looking much better than the black car photos suggested.
